All Event comes with a prices to pay ~ but is all worth it ~ got so many nice stuff during the artist booth ~ Yeah Supporting the local illustrator and my favourite artist.
Was able to meet up with some new artists during the event, actually I didnt really talk to everyone of them, only some of them but below are some of the nicer artist I like during the event.
Was attending the first Illustration Fest 2016 held by Organisation of Illustrators Council (OIC). It had been awhile since i attended any illustration base event and I was glad that I did went down to check out the event and the best part was I managed to attend one of my favourite illustrator Mattias Adolfsson talk about his journey of becoming a freelance illustrator and the process, also get to see other local artist selling their creation at the artist corner.
After the event, met up with my NYP classmates for a nice dinner at Nihon Mura and KTV Session but the exciting part came after KTV, one of my friend started to mention about this supper place near our place, where they sell super nice Dim Sum ~ (FYI: I FREAKING LOVE DIM SUM) So we decide to talk a UBER down even duo is raining heavily. After reaching the place, we just started to order as much as possible and the dim sum is super duper awesome.
Is been awhile since we had a Lasalle Gang Gathering, even duo not everyone was able to make it but it was a nice hangout with a Korean BBQ / Food and ended up with a Teh Alia (Milk Tea with Ginger) as a Ending for the gathering.
27 OCT my first entry for my sketch Journal, Sorry for the scrabble hand writing will try my best to write nicer.
Finally finishing up my personal website after working on the design for almost a month now. It took me awhile to finally launch this site due to a major mishap that had happened earlier this month. Losing my father was a roller coaster ride and it has been difficult in many ways. Now, the question often posed to me: What does "See" and “Saw” stand for? My Chinese name is 希(xī), “See”, it represents hope. I used to dislike my very own name as people kept making fun of it, right until I introduced myself as John. Few years down the road, a mentor of mine mentioned that the name 希, is actually very unique and I should embrace it.
I started to see important values of the name after using it as my artist name for awhile. It can mean different things in the Chinese language such as hope in the family and seeing what others couldn’t. It gave birth to a thought that everyone had a past, and that contributed to their present self. I “Saw” my inner, past memories as a child, merging with a stronger representation in the present, I hope that you can see the kind of fusion in my works and more to come in the future.
